Suicidal Man Who Only Liked Big Dogs Met A Chihuahua Who Hated Everyone But Him

Being a pretty big guy himself, Bobby Humphreys has always owned large-breed dogs such as Rottweilers.

If you asked him back then if he would ever have a tiny dog like a Chihuahua, he’d probably laugh.

One day, Bobby’s life came to a screeching halt when his 17-year marriage came to an end. He was absolutely devastated and even had thoughts of suicide.

Thankfully, he had a good friend named Connie to help him through this dark time. Then one day it was his turn to return the favor.

Connie was moving and needed someone to take in her Chihuahua, Lady, for a little while. Humphreys was never too fond of Chihuahuas, but he knew he had to help his friend. He agreed to take her in, and much to his surprise, the two of them bonded very quickly.

Lady would crawl right onto his lap and was such a loving and friendly pup. But that’s the thing. Lady usually wasn’t like this with people. Connie was amazed by how much Lady liked Humphreys.

When it was time for Lady to live with Connie again, Humphreys felt lonely without a little dog. He then decided to adopt a Chihuahua of his own, named Kira.

Kira had been through a lot in her life, and Humphreys helped her trust people again. But Kira wasn’t the only pups Humphreys helped.

He rescued another Chihuahua named Harley from Petfinder, along with her sister Quinn. He wound up taking in so many Chihuahuas that he decided to start his own animal rescue group: Big Guy, Littles World Sanctuary.

Since his start, he has rescued more than 30 Chihuahuas from deplorable conditions and abusive homes. Once they are healed and rehabilitated, he finds the perfect forever families to adopt them.
