When the staffers at a hospital in Sao Paolo, Brazil, started noticing the same dog outside their hospital gates every day, they knew something was up.
Initially, they passed him off as a stray dog, but later realized that the dog has in fact been loyally waiting for his owner for 4 months!

The hospital staff discovered that the dog had chased the ambulance carrying his homeless dad who was stabbed. He was the man’s faithful friend and only family.
Unfortunately, the homeless man succumbed to his injuries, and the poor dog had no way of knowing that his owner had passed away.
He simply kept his eyes peeled at the gates, hoping that his dad would step out and greet him.

The hospital staff contacted an animal shelter and helped the dog get rescued. But he escaped the shelter and ran for miles to return to his waiting spot outside the hospital.
Some kind staffers are now feeding the dog every day, hoping that someone convinces him to start over in a new home.

Update: The dog has finally found a home with the hospital’s kind receptionist named Leticia Nawas Galastri! Leticia never gave up on the dog and kept trying to earn his trust until he followed her home. The wonderful pooch is now a happy dog again with his new mom! Yay!
