German Shepherd Mix Chases Vehicle After Owner Abandons Him On A Dark Road

A surveillance camera’s recorded footage serves as the only proof authorities have as to how a 3-year-old German Shepherd mix dog wound up all alone on a dark road.

Chesterfield County Police report an unknown suspect pulled up in a vehicle onto Public Works Road in Chesterfield, Virginia, recently.

The vehicle is believed to be an early 2000’s gold model Toyota 4Runner or Toyota Sequoia.

The camera recorded the vehicle stop, a person getting out of the vehicle with the dog, abandoning him, and driving away.

Sadly, the poor dog tried to run after the vehicle, suggesting perhaps the dog knew the person.

Luckily, the dog was saved and taken to Chesterfield County Animal Shelter. As of this writing, he is not yet available for adoption.

Anyone who may recognize the vehicle or dog or who has information on this incident is asked to contact the proper authorities.

We would like to remind our readers to get in touch with local animal control or a local rescue if you can no longer care for your pets.

It is never a viable option to abandon or dump an innocent animal, as the outcome will likely be harm, abuse, death, or all three.
