Apparently, dogs are not the only creatures that enjoy a good belly rub. This baby deer felt right at home getting belly rubs from strangers who rescued him.
A couple of linemen rescued a baby deer while trimming trees to lay electric lines. To calm the anxious baby down, one of the linemen holds the deer like a baby and begins rubbing his belly. And it works like a charm!
But as they soon realize, the belly rub works its magic a little too well. The baby deer begins crying hysterically every time the worker tries to set the deer down. How adorable!
This is what one of the workers, Justin Lewis, had to say about the whole incident:
” My buddy and I were clearing a right of way for the electric lines and came across this fawn trapped in the fall path of the tree we were about to trim. He was tangled in some thorns and was pretty shaken up after we cut him loose, so we started rubbing his belly to calm him down…. which worked a little too well, as you can see.
“He followed us around the job site like a lost puppy for about an hour until I noticed a doe watching us from the hillside. Assuming this was his mother, I carried him about halfway up the hill while she watched attentively. I sat him down, he ran straight to her, and they walked off together.”
Justin can also be heard in the video saying “He’s spoiled we have spoiled a baby deer.”
