Lily the Golden Retriever had always been a very energetic dog. So, when her owners noticed that she was acting weak and could barely walk, they immediately rushed her to the vet. That was the beginning of their nightmare.
The vet broke the bad news that Lily had a huge tumor on her spleen – a common type of canine cancer called Hemangiosarcoma. The vet also told them that in her 20 years of experience, she had never seen such a tumor be diagnosed as benign and that there was a high probability Lily would not make it even after surgery.
Lily’s family had to make a choice quickly and they chose not to give up on her. They exhausted all their savings to treat her, and the 6 pound tumor was removed from Lily’s stomach.
A week later, when Lily’s family received the test results, they were overjoyed that Lily didn’t have cancer, and they decided to share the good news with Lily. You can see the happiness on Lily’s face when she learns that she doesn’t have cancer and that is healthy again!
