A mama dog and her litter of newborn puppies were abandoned and dumped on a dirt road in Atascosa County, Texas, by a cruel human.
It was a cold day out, and these newborn puppies would not have survived long out in the elements.
Luckily, they were spotted just in time, and Atascosa County Animal Control was contacted for help. Officers immediately arrived to pick the little family up and bring them back to their clinic for medical attention and care.

The mama dog had a little eye infection and required eyedrops to help it heal. She and her puppies were then put into a warm kennel with soft blankets to rest.
ACAC’s rescue partner, Puppy Pleasers, stepped up to help and gladly took in the mama and her babies. They promised to keep the family together until the puppies were old enough to be weaned from their mom. They will also continue to treat the mama’s eye infection.
Once the puppies are old enough and the mama dog is fully recovered, they will all go to loving forever homes.
ACAC has since launched a criminal investigation to find whoever dumped these poor dogs. The person faces criminal charges of Animal Cruelty by abandonment.
