Their paws were wrapped and monitored constantly. The curious little puppies wanted to chew the bandages off but volunteers made sure they were never alone.
The next step, now that the wounds were clean and infection-free, was to have surgery using skin transplants.
Nick needed one surgery and Vita needed two. The surgeries were complex and the rehabilitation was long but both puppies did amazingly well!

Within six months, their health is completely transformed. These two happy, rambunctious pups survived and are truly thriving!
It took extensive treatment but they’re now fully healed. It’s truly amazing! See what happens when loving humans step in and allow nothing to get in their way?
