A Bruceville, Texas man was arrested and charged with cruelty to non-livestock animals after he was accused of intentionally driving his van over a neighbor’s dog.
After a three-week-long investigation, McLennan County Sheriff’s deputies took 35-year-old Gregorio Salas into custody.
Police were dispatched to a Bruceville home last month after the dog had been hit by a van.
The dog’s owner told cops that he witnessed Salas speeding down the road in his van before intentionally swerving onto his neighbor’s driveway to hit the dog.
The dog’s owner ran to his dog, who was lying at the end of his driveway with serious injuries. The hit caused the dog to lose his tail and suffer a hip injury.
They rushed the dog to the vet for treatment, and he is now back home while he recovers.
Salas remains at the McLennan County Jail, where his bond was set at $5,000.
