A dog named Thor used to live with his dad, Claudio Cantarelli, in Caçapava do Sul in Brazil. Sadly, Claudio, who was a fine art painter, passed away at the age of 58.
This tragedy left Thor deeply traumatized and inconsolable. The poor dog got sick with grief, and he has never been the same again.

In this video, we see Thor 2 years after Claudio’s death. The obedient pooch is being cared for by an elderly lady now, who feeds him and provides him shelter.
However, Thor has developed a very strange ritual while pining for Claudio all this time. The dog sets out on the familiar streets every morning, and spends the whole day “waiting” for his dad to come back.

The locals say Thor follows the same route that Claudio used to take Thor on walks every day. Thor’s eyes overflow with haunting misery every time he glances across the streets in hopes of seeing his dad again.
The worried local veterinarian gathered some help and tried to stop Thor from endangering himself on the streets, but the dog refused to listen.

People believe that Thor’s “daily walks” serve as his coping mechanism to deal with the emptiness and hopelessness he has been facing after Claudio’s death.
This heartbreaking ritual gives him hope and keeps him going from one day to the next. Poor Thor. We pray he finds his peace.
