Tiny stray viciously attacked her rescuers until the magic moment they picked her up

When volunteers with Dallas Dog RRR (Rescue, Rehab, Reform), found this tiny girl hiding under a bridge, not only was she in terrible shape, but she was incredibly frightened of any human interaction.

The small Chihuahua mix was emaciated and terrified to the point of attempting to fight off her rescuers every time they came close.

For being such a small, exhausted pup…she was putting up a good fight.

It was nearly impossible for her rescuers to get close enough to safely pick her up.

Luckily, with lots of patience and a little ingenuity, they were able to scoop her up into their arms.

Once she was being held, Maggie (as she’s now known) completely transformed. All of the tension and anger melted away as she was being held in loving hands.

Her rescuers saw how thin she was, so as soon as they got her to their vehicle, they bribed her with some wet dog food.

Maggie could not believe her luck — and almost didn’t know what to do with the delicious meal.

It was obvious this little pup spent a long time being on her own, fending for herself. Her bony body sagged with desperation, even when she was at her foster home.

Not only did she need rest and nutrition, but Maggie needed love.

It took some time, but eventually, Maggie began to put on weight and feel comfortable living in a home with humans. She saw that life had more to offer than fear and starvation.

By the time she found her forever home, she was a different dog entirely!

Now, she spends days snuggling with her fur baby siblings and being spoiled rotten by her forever family. It’s difficult to believe that she was once so fearful of people. Thanks to the kind folks at Dallas Dog RRR, she has transformed into a thriving cuddle bug!
