Trucker Drives 2,300 Miles To Reunite Cancer Patient With His Furry Best Friend

The Miller family, of Wilmington, North Carolina, was visiting their family in Utah for the holidays when they received devastating news.

Their eight-year-old son, Perryn, was suffering from awful headaches and soon learned that he had stage four glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer.

The Millers decided to stay in Utah, where Perryn had surgery to remove the tumor and will continue to receive chemotherapy and radiation in the coming months.

Sadly, the Millers had also lost their home in Hurricane Florence and had been staying with family members in North Carolina while they rebuild their home. Those same family members agreed to watch Frank while they were in Utah.

But leaving their life behind in North Carolina hasn’t been easy. Back home is Perryn’s beloved dog, Frank. The eight-month-old German Shepherd has been Perryn’s best friend, and being without him during this tough time was very difficult.

That’s when former long-haul truck driver Robert Reynolds caught wind of Perryn’s story and offered to pick their pup up and drive him 2,300 miles to Utah so that Perryn could reunite with his beloved dog.

The Millers were blown away by Reynolds’ kindness, especially since they were total strangers to him. But of course they happily accepted his offer!

Reynolds even documented the long drive with lots of selfies and videos. He also offered to drive the dog back once the family is ready to head back to North Carolina.
