A man was driving along the empty country roads, when he spotted something moving on the side of the road.
As he stopped to investigate, he was appalled to see 2 starving, dehydrated puppies trying to protect each other underneath the bushes.
The man rescued the 2 pups and brought them home to his family. They named the puppies Mia and Ava.

The puppies were in bad shape due to mange and other infections. The family gave them food and water, and then tended to their rotting skin with medicated baths.
However, it was the defeated demeanor of the puppies that had the family worried. The puppies had lost their faith in humans and felt like they didn’t deserve to live or be loved.

The family knew these puppies had shut themselves down, but they didn’t want to give up on them. They kept caring for their needs and working on their health.
Every time the puppies acted skittish and withdrawn, the family comforted their fragile hearts with their unconditional love.

The man reaches his hand out to one of the puppies, and the puppy actually grabs his hand and resigns himself to his love.
