1 Year Old Pup Surrendered To High Kill Shelter Wearing Her Favorite Pink Sweater, Cries Before She Sleeps

I have visited prisons, third world countries, and just about every dead end place you could possibly imagine on this earth through volunteer work and none measure to the hopelessness and despair of the Carson Animal Shelter in Gardena, California.

The high kill shelter, which is tantamount to a prison for dogs, is unlike anything you will ever experience in your life. As soon as you enter the facility, you are greeted with the noise, chaos, and acrid smell of dogs in varying degrees of decline. Simply put, hope does not exist at the Carson Animal Shelter.

For a 1-year-old unnamed Chihuahua, she can tell you all about the hardship she is experiencing at Carson if she could talk. Her owner didn’t want her anymore, so in a stunning betrayal, she drove her to the Carson shelter, didn’t give any reason why she was surrendering her dog, and handed shelter staff nothing more than a bag of toys, and treats before she abruptly walked away. Sad indeed.

A Petharbor listing for this pup reads,

“I am described as a female, white Chihuahua – Smooth Coated. The shelter thinks I am about 1 year old.I have been at the shelter since Jan 20, 2017. I don’t have much time left. The shelter is full.”

Sadly, an anonymous shelter source who wished to be unidentified told me that before this precious pup goes to sleep, she can be heard gently weeping. Her little chest compresses, and she sobs quietly to herself, careful not to disturb the other pups sleeping next to her. This is heartbreaking.

Fidonation, a kill shelter is no place for a tiny, terrified Chihuahua to spend the days of her life and we can do something about this.

If you or someone you know is interested in giving this precious pup the forever home she rightfully deserves, please contact the Los Angeles County Animal Control – Carson at (310) 523-9566 and reference the shelter ID #A5027030.

Additionally, please share this story on Facebook or Twitter, so we are closer to finding this pup a home. We have done it many times before, and can certainly do it again. ❤
