Beauty was just 2-months-old when she was found abandoned by shelter workers in Mani, Greece. Every day, many people would come to visit her, and the 200 other dogs in the shelter, but Beauty was never chosen.

For 9 years, Beauty’s anticipated smiles and tail-wags kept getting overlooked. Soon, she turned into a sad dog, who would just lay down in a corner, and spend her days in quiet sobs. The worried and helpless shelter workers often called her the sad “Sleeping Beauty”.
Things took a turn for the worse when Beauty got sick with leishmaniasis. This parasitic disease severely weakened her, until she finally met an angel named Zaira. Zaira would often foster sick pets. Soon, Beauty’s loving, easy-going nature made her a favorite in the foster home.

Zaira has lost many dogs in her arms, so she is trying her best to help Beauty fight and survive. Beauty’s health has significantly improved now, and Zaira hopes that she will soon live as a pampered pet in a happy forever home. Get well soon, Beauty!

Update: We are heartbroken with this update. Beauty fell sick again, and was not able to recover this time. Zaira was devastated, and adopted her so she had a home in her final days. After receiving all the love and care, Beauty passed away in Zaira’s arms. We are sorry, Beauty. We hope you are in a better place now.
