Some local bystanders were already preparing to get into the dangerous lake to save the dog.

But the crew arrived just in time and asked the bystanders to step back as they use their training to attempt this risky rescue.

Without sparing another second, 2 crew members donned ice-suits and plunged into the freezing water to save the drowning pooch.

In this arduous rescue video, we see the 2 men meandering their way around the slurpee-like ice chunks to get to the dog.

It’s exhausting for them to cover the distance, but they keep pushing away the ice and finally reach the dog.

After they secure the weakened pooch, they swim back to the shore with a sense of urgency and get the dog to safety.
