Ellen Tift Goebel’s young son Lennox and their next-door neighbor’s dog Bogart became the best of friends and very attached to one another.
So, when Bogart and his owner (who is a musician and regularly tours) traveled for a year, Lennox had a “Bogart-shaped” hole in his heart.
Fast forward 12 months to April 2017 in Nashville, Tennessee, where Lennox comes home only to be surprised to see Bogart in his backyard.
Ellen writes, “A year ago our neighbor had to take her dog to live in another state while she traveled and my son stood in her yard and cried as they drove away. We didn’t think the dog would be gone for so long but my son has prayed for his beloved canine friend every single night since he left. Today we got the wonderful surprise that Bogart is back. They were both equally surprised to see each other. I was able to get some video, you can tell they love each other.”
It should be noted that Lennox and the Goebel family do have a dog of their own! But it’s obvious from Lennox’s emotional tears and Bogart’s whimpers that these two share a very special bond.
