Woman Locks Dog In Cage & Starves Her To Death Because She’s “Too Busy”

A dog from Bryan, Texas, didn’t stand a chance with an owner like 20-year-old Madeline Clark. Clark’s apartment manager contacted the police after she asked him for help removing her dead dog’s body.

Clark reportedly told the apartment manager she left the dog without food or water for a weekend. She said on her return, the dog was dead.

Maintenance workers at the residence helped Clark and a family member remove the dog’s body but noticed extreme decomposition.

One of the workers got so sick from the scene and seeing maggots on the dog that he vomited. The poor dog’s remains fell through the kennel because she was so emaciated.

Clark told authorities the dog was about seven or eight years old and was with her for 14 months. She also reported not knowing why the dog died and the animal had no health problems.

She admitted she didn’t ask anyone to check in on her dog while she was gone for a “few days.”

As she was questioned further about how long she was gone from her apartment, Clark admitted she was in town and staying at her boyfriend’s house. Apparently she was “too busy” to check on the animal.

Clark was arrested and charged with cruelty to a non-livestock animal.

Anyone convicted of animal cruelty in Texas can serve up to seven years in prison since it is considered a felony. Police released an image of Clark, which can be found here.
