Veterinarian Dislodges 4-Year-Old Stick From Shelter Dog’s Mouth

Buddy was about to be euthanized when he was rescued from the county shelter. The adorable eight-year-old mixed-breed dog was taken in by Friends of Strays in Saint Petersburg, Florida. However, a dental cleaning revealed a very disturbing discovery in Buddy’s mouth.

The veterinarian performing Buddy’s dental cleaning under anesthesia found a stick lodged between the dog’s two molar teeth. It was stuck in place horizontally and is believed to have been there for at least three to four years.

“It had likely been there for years and had eaten into the roof of his mouth and rotted two of his teeth, yet he never once complained, “Friends of Strays posted on Facebook. “Thankfully he is going to feel so much better moving forward!”
