Bus Driver Makes An Unscheduled Stop Every Day On Her Bus Route

A bus driver in Canada, who would like to remain anonymous, makes a special stop every day. This stop isn’t part of her normal route. The driver goes out of her way to leave food for a stray dog that desperately needs her help.

The driver is also a volunteer for Feed The Fur Babies Canada, an amazing organization that provides food for strays in rural communities so they don’t starve.

The bus driver noticed the stray dog over two years ago. She initially noticed the pup as he dug through the trash for food. The poor pup was severely emaciated.

The driver made sure if she saw him again, she would be better prepared with a bag of food to give to him. And that she did!

The pup was spotted again alongside that same stretch of road. She tried to get close but it was clear that he was very afraid of people. She left him the bag of food and continued on her way.

“She has continued to feed him every day, Monday to Friday, at the same location,” Kareena Grywinski, founder of Feed The Furbabies Canada, told The Dodo. “He sits and patiently waits every day no matter what the weather is like.”

Despite the fact that it’s been two whole years, the dog is still hesitant to get close to the bus driver. However, the dog is no longer skin and bones and that’s something to celebrate.

No one knows much about the dog or where he stays to keep warm but it seems since he always shows up to greet his friend, it’s likely that this is his only source of food.

The bus driver and the rescue organization would love to take the dog in, but sadly, there just isn’t any room for him in nearby shelters or with foster families.

“This community has over 100 dogs needing to be rescued; it breaks our hearts that we can’t take them all home,” Grywinski said.

“There just aren’t enough foster homes available for these precious pets. We do the best we can by providing them food and dog houses until a space opens up in a rescue for them.”
