Sometimes people end up at just the right place at just the right time to save a life, almost like they’re a guardian angel sent to save the day.
That was the case when one delivery driver came across a dog about to be strangled by an elevator — and dramatic footage shows how he stepped up to save the poor dog’s life just in time.
The incident occurred in Hubei, China. A small white dog got onto an elevator by itself, dragging a leash behind:
But when the doors closed, the leash got caught — and the poor pup ended up getting dragged by the neck to the ceiling:
According to the Daily Mail, the elevator descended from the 22nd floor. The dog was left strangled by its leash all the way down.
Thankfully, the elevator soon stopped — and a guardian angel got on.
It was a delivery man, who immediately grabbed the dog to help it:
It must’ve been a shocking sight to see after those elevator doors open, but the delivery man doesn’t hesitate to act.
The heroic good samaritan quickly releases the dog from its leash. According to the South China Morning Post, the dog was then brought back to its owners by a security guard.
Footage of the dramatic rescue has now gone viral, with one video being viewed over 1.6 million times in just a few days:
