Dog Befriends Otter In A Super Cute Playdate For The Ages

David and Jo Putnam of Kodiak, Alaska, were walking their German Shepherd puppy one day when they came across a river otter. When the two unlikely playmates met face-to-face, the couple got their phones out and started recording.

“So this happened last night when Jo and I were walking our new puppy. I think the puppy has a new friend,” David wrote on Facebook.

From the very beginning, the two animals didn’t even realize they’re different. Or maybe they just don’t care! They roll around playfully nipping at each other just like you’d see two puppies doing. 🙂

The otter flips up off of his back and takes off running practically begging the dog to give chase, and the puppy obliges. Then– they’re right back at it again! The playdate continues for quite some time before the family decides it’s time to move on.

As they walk away, the otter watches from a distance as if he’s sad to see them go. And I’m sure he is sad, as they seem to have had so much fun together! But don’t worry, I’m sure these two will see lots more of each other during daily walks!
