Clever Dog Discovers He Can Use Leaves To ‘Buy’ Treats At The Store

A sweet dog named Negro has called the campus of Colombia’s Diversified Technical Education Institute of Monterrey Casanare home for the past five years. He watches over things and observes as students go about their daily activities. And he’s learned a thing or two…

The school’s faculty cares for the black dog by providing him with food, water, and a safe place to sleep. And by watching the students all day long every day, Negro has picked up on an easy way to get treats. 😉

He’d always see students go to a little store on campus where they could purchase things on their breaks, and sometimes they’d also buy him a cookie. Negro saw them exchanging currency for these treats and thought, “Hey, I can do that!”

Negro took his newfound knowledge on commerce and started grabbing leaves to exchange for treats — and it worked! The dog had invented his own currency and found a foolproof way of attaining cookies. 🙂

I guess money does grow on trees! Negro has been doing this for years now with the staff always making sure to play along. They only give him treats that are safe for dogs and limit his purchases to just a few times per day so that he doesn’t overeat. You gotta hand it to this pup — he’s one clever pooch!
