Officers Say Dog Removed From Life Of Severe Beatings Has A Very “Boopable” Nose

A sweet dog who wants love and affection was recently removed from her owner’s possession after surveillance video captured him severely abusing her.

The Ottawa Police East Criminal Investigations Section in Canada charged a 22-year-old man with several crimes, and now their focus is on the dog who suffered at his hands.

The abuse took place at the Billings Bridge Plaza, and by the time police arrived on the scene the suspect fled on foot.

He was later apprehended, and that’s when authorities discovered it wasn’t the first time he beat the poor dog.

After reviewing video surveillance, the male was allegedly seen beating the dog on numerous occasions. Since his arrest on multiple charges, police shared an image and update of the now-happy dog.

In a recent tweet by the Ottawa Police, they said, “Many have been asking about the dog mentioned in the animal abuse file yesterday. We want to reassure you that Felony, now renamed Scout, was removed from his owner, is expected to recover, and as we understand, still has a very #boopable nose.”

Ottawa Police stated they have a zero-tolerance approach in terms of animal cruelty. The dog’s former owner has been charged twice with causing unnecessary pain/suffering/injury to an anima, twice with injuring an animal, and charged four times with “failing to comply with a judicial order of release.”

We send lots of love and well wishes to Scout in his new life far away from the abuse he suffered. Scout is expected to fully recover.

Thanks to everyone who stepped up to save the dog from a life of abuse.
