A dog named Frodo was found wandering the streets all alone in Croatia. Frankly, his appearance was frightening, through no fault of his own. Thankfully, some people who had noticed Frodo contacted Klaudija Sigurnjak, a veteran animal rescuer.
Sigurnjak has a lot of experience with animals but she was even shocked when she first laid eyes on Frodo. The poor dog was severely emaciated, had severe mange, and swollen eyes.
In spite of her experience, Sigurnjak had never seen anything like him. She immediately decided to rescue Frodo and worked hard to gain his trust. First, she brought him in for medical treatment.
The veterinarian assessed the “scary” looking dog. He recommended that Frodo’s infected right eye should be removed. But the good news was that his left eye could be saved! The poor dog, so severely under-weight, also had a bad flea and tick infestation. The medical team went to work on Frodo right away.
Some thought Frodo wouldn’t even survive. His infections were severe plus he was so frail but in time, the little dog proved that he’s a class-a warrior! He fought hard! And before long, his infections began to heal, his coat came back in more beautiful than ever.
Sigurnjak couldn’t believe her eyes! She was so relieved and elated– the once scary-looking street dog looked like a million bucks! His health was getting so much better. You know what that meant? YUP! Frodo was put up for adoption!
Marko Duspara and his wife took one look at Frodo’s photo and fell in love with him instantly. The adoption went through and Frodo joined their family.
Frodo now lives a wonderful life. He spends much of his time running around the park and getting lots of love and affection from his new parents.
You see, Frodo was always beautiful. He just needed a helping hand!
