When some owners decide to dispose of their unwanted pets, they do not care how hurtful they are to the animals and they do not care about anyone but themselves, quite frankly. Stories like these serve as a very sad reminder of the willingness of pet owners to simply discard their animals when the going gets rough. This poor dog is a prime example of just how horribly cruel some people can be.
This owner could have taken Tool the dog to any number of locations. He could have brought Tool to a shelter or an animal rescue. He could have tried his best to find him a new home by using the local newspaper or Craigslist to spread the word. But what he chose to do instead will make your blood boil and if we could get a moment with this man, we’d have stern words for him.
Tool was not taken to a proper dog rescue or shelter and he was left in the mountains to die. His owner clearly did not want him to live very long, as the poor pup was tied to a pole in the middle of nowhere. It is bad enough that the dog was left behind without also having to leave the animal completely stranded without any way to potentially access food or water.
The owner did not want the dog to even be able to follow him and that is what is most heartbreaking at all. Luckily, Tool was found one day by someone who happened to end up in the same area. However, he had gone a dangerously long time without any food or water. How this animal did not end up dying of starvation is completely beyond us.

This dog did not deserve the fate he received and while some dogs might have succumbed to the reality of their conditions, Tool is not like all of the other dogs.
He is a soldier and he is a survivor. Please take time out to share this story, so that awareness can be raised about the importance of finding a proper home for your animals once you decide that you no longer want them around. No pet should ever be left alone out in the wilderness like this and we are utterly ashamed to share the same planet with people who find this sort of behavior acceptable.
