Lost Fawn Thinks Protective K9 Is His Mom, Follows Her Around & Begs For Love

Iris is a 7-month-old German Shepherd who has recently started her K9 training. Owner Adrian Flores takes Iris out for morning walks every day along the trail in Southern Pines, North Carolina. During one such walk, the pair had a unique encounter with a lost fawn.

Adrian and Iris noticed that the fawn had been following them for quite some time. The distressed little fawn was especially tailing Iris, because he assumed that she was his mom.

Iris sensed that the fawn was scared, so she stopped in her tracks and shifted her attention to the frightened fawn.

For almost an hour, Iris refused to move from her spot and chose to care for the lost baby. She kissed and caressed the fawn and assured him that things will be alright.

The fawn was so relieved in her company that he nuzzled up to Iris and relaxed cozily under her watchful eyes.

The fawn eventually found the way to his home and bid farewell to his doting new friend. Adrian is amazed at Iris’ empathy and love for other creatures at such a young age. We love our protective hero dogs!
