Kaley Cuoco mourns beloved dog Dump Truck: Chihuahua helped her through ‘some of the hardest moments’

Kaley Cuoco is mourning the loss of a very special friend: her beloved rescue dog Dump Truck, who recently passed away.

The Big Bang Theory star, who originally took in the Chihuahua as a foster, announced her dog’s passing on Instagram on May 30.

“My sweetest Dump Truck, saying goodbye to you has deeply pierced my soul,” Cuoco wrote. “You were with me during some of the hardest moments I’ve had in my life. You brought endless joy to everyone that met you, and kissed my nose when I needed it most. You were as special as it gets and I’m so grateful we found each-other.”

Cuoco also included a touching quote about a dog’s unconditional love: “A dog is the only thing on earth, that loves you more than he loves himself.”

Cuoco and Dump Truck had a heartwarming story together: the actress told Seth Meyers that she took the Chihuahua in as a foster in 2020, at the start of the COVID-19 lockdown.

But the two hit it off, and Cuoco decided to adopt “Sir Dump Truck” for good: “He was supposed to be a foster, and I turned into a ‘foster fail,'” Cuoco said on Late Night. “I turned into a girl with a dog in a stroller, which I did not want to become!” she joked, showing footage of herself as a doting dog mom pushing the Chihuahua in a stroller.

She explained that “Dumpy” is an older dog who had a “very traumatic life” before she met him, but the stroller helped him get around and overcome his fears.

Cuoco loves animals: she has used her fame as an actress to advocate for animal rights, speaking out against pet abandonment, Canadian seal hunting and horse abuse. She is a member of the Humane Society of the United States and promoted the dog rescue Paw Works.

In addition, she has many pets of her own, including several dogs and horses. “I’m not allowed to say how many I have, because I am afraid they will come knocking, saying that it’s an illegal amount,” she joked to Variety in 2021.

One of her dogs, Norman, died last year. In her tribute to Dump Truck, she asked the Chihuahua to “tell Norman I miss him every day and will cherish you both forever.”

Rest in peace, Dump Truck. Even after a traumatic start to life, you found a loving home and brought so much joy to Kaley Cuoco 💔❤️

Please share this story in memory of this sweet dog.
