Baby Deer Abandoned By Mother Keeps Visiting A Great Dane & Begs For Her Love

Isobel Springett lives near the scenic woods in Courtenay, British Columbia, and she is used to random visits from the wildlife.

One day, she and her Great Dane, Kate, heard the painful cries of a baby deer. After 3 days of following up, they discovered that the baby deer had been abandoned by her mother.

Isobel brought the baby deer home and began caring for her. However, it was Kate who was completely mesmerized by the little deer, now named Pippin. Her maternal instincts overpowered her and she volunteered as the deer’s primary caregiver!

Over the next few weeks, Isobel witnessed Pippin grow dependent on Kate. The baby would try to suckle on her and find comfort in her presence. Kate, who would usually play rough with other dogs, was incredibly gentle with Pippin!

Soon, Pippin felt the urge to go back to the wild. She didn’t need a mother anymore, so she returned to the woods and found a deer herd of her own. Poor Kate was left depressed when Pippin disappeared.

That’s when Isobel noticed a transformation in the pair’s maternal relationship. This time, Pippin came back to the house by herself and forged a bond of true friendship with Kate. She would return every single day to spend time with her best buddy!
