El Paso County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a disturbing case of animal abandonment that has led to the death of 2 innocent puppies.
The incident happened on the foggy Highway 24 near Soap Weed Road, where many drivers witnessed 6 puppies being thrown out of a moving car. Two of the puppies were run over by oncoming cars.

Couple Morgan Dillingham and Garrett Ross immediately stopped their car to rescue the puppies.
They carried the two injured puppies to the side of the road, but the other puppies had panicked and bolted off toward the wilderness.
Unfortunately, many impatient passing drivers started making indecent gestures toward the couple for stopping midway. The couple stayed with the injured puppies till they passed away.
They called for help to rescue the remaining 4 pups from the litter. A local search party eventually managed to find the frightened pups after spending hours looking for them.

Morgan and Garrett are relieved that the surviving puppies are finally in safe hands. They, along with other witnesses, have informed that the owners were driving a white SUV.
