Man Dumps Puppy In Basket Outside Vet Clinic, The Sick Puppy Had To Be Put Down

The RSPCA has launched an animal cruelty investigation after a sick and neglected Pug puppy was dumped outside a vet’s clinic in Essex.

The surveillance footage captured a young, dark-haired man leaving the 6-week-old puppy in a laundry basket just outside the clinic’s doorstep. The filthy basket had a bowl of milk and some food.

The vet took in the puppy and named him Mr Buggles. The dainty creature had ruptured eyes and a severely emaciated constitution.

The staff monitored him 24/7 and provided him with the best treatment, but Mr Buggles’ health had deteriorated to a point of no return. The sweet-natured boy had to be put to sleep to mercifully end his suffering.

The RSPCA investigators now fear the welfare of Mr Buggles’ litter mates and mama dog who are most likely facing a similar abuse situation, or could be in urgent need of medical attention.

It is being speculated that the Mr Buggles’ health issues could have crept up from irresponsible breeding aimed toward milking the Christmas puppy market.

Many backyard breeders are habitually seen raising forced litters to meet the extra demand for puppies over the holidays.

Another concerning issue is the thoughtless breeding hacks used to give puppies exaggerated “cute” features like massive eyes and flat faces – all of which result in respiratory and vision complications that compromise the puppies’ health and longevity.

The RSPCA is pleading with the public to be mindful while purchasing puppies from shady sources. Anyone with relevant knowledge on Mr Buggles’ origin, or the identity or whereabouts of his owner is requested to contact RSPCA’s appeal line at 0300 123 8018. Spread the word.
