Years On 11 Inch Chain, He Had Holes In His Bony Body From Sleeping On Concrete

What possesses a human to adopt a pet and then mistreat them so badly that they look like this? These actions are totally beyond us.

We shower our pets with love and all they could possibly want and need. Yet Nelson was neglected so badly that every bone on his body showed.

To say he suffered is an understatement.

Nelson has tick bite fever. Likely from not receiving flea and tick treatment and left outside at all times. All Nelson knew was a horrific life as he spent his days starving on a chain just 11 inches long.

Do you know how short that is?! He didn’t even have the ability to move around properly to escape his own defecation!

Was he even able to lie down properly? Or did the length of the chain force him into uncomfortable positions where he remained day in and day out? We are at a total loss.

Thankfully, someone stepped in and made the proper phone calls to authorities. Sidewalk Specials came to take Nelson.

They immediately had him evaluated by the vet who confirmed that he definitely has tick bite fever.

The veterinarian also found open wounds caused by sleeping on the concrete. He’s so thin from not being fed that there is no cushioning when he lies down on the hard ground.

The medical team went right to work treating Nelson. He’s scared but he suspects that the humans around him are helping him.

They give him a proper bath and start him on a healthy diet high in calories so he gains weight.

“PUP-DATE”
