In the aftermath of Hurricane Milton, which brought severe flooding to parts of Lithia, Florida, a group of locals sprang into action when they spotted an unexpected sight— a pig stranded in the rising floodwaters.
The pig, named Millie, had found herself in the middle of the flood, surrounded by water and in need of help. Thankfully, her rescuers wasted no time jumping into action.
Armed with ropes and plenty of determination, they carefully waded into the waters to save her.
Millie’s rescue wasn’t without its challenges, though. Despite the best efforts of the group, the pig seemed reluctant to leave her watery surroundings.
She squealed and tugged in the opposite direction as her rescuers pulled and guided her toward dry land. But the rescuers didn’t give up.
With persistence, they eventually managed to rope Millie and lead her to safety.
The heartwarming moment was captured on video and shared on 10 Tampa Bay’s Facebook page, where viewers were quick to comment. Many couldn’t help but inject a bit of humor into the situation.
“Thank you for rescuing my ex,” one commenter joked, bringing laughter to the thread.
