She was exhausted, frightened, and dangerously close to giving birth alone in the woods.
When reports came in about a heavily pregnant dog wandering through a wooded area, rescuer Audray Luck knew there was no time to waste. But reaching the terrified mama dog would not be easy.
Every time someone approached, the scared dog ran deeper into the brush. She darted through fields, disappeared into thick woods, and even crossed railroad tracks trying to avoid rescue.
For hours, Audray patiently followed her, determined not to give up.
Then, something changed.
The frightened dog — later named Ginger — finally stopped running. Little by little, she allowed Audray to come closer until she eventually trusted the rescuer enough to be gently picked up and carried to safety.
It turned out the rescue happened just in time.
Only a few hours after arriving at her foster home, Ginger went into labor and safely delivered 10 puppies surrounded by warmth, comfort, and people who cared for her 💛
