Puppy mills, also known as puppy farms, are commercial dog breeding facilities known for their quick breeding and deplorable conditions.
The dogs there are usually crammed into filthy cages that are covered in feces and urine. The dogs are forced to stand and lay on wire flooring, which is extremely painful.

With little room to move around, they have no choice but to hunch over, which causes them many problems later on in their lives.
They are given little to no food or water, usually just enough to keep them alive so they can keep being bred.

This Yorkie spent his entire life at one of these puppy mills, where he was ignored and severely neglected.
The only reason the puppy mill owners kept him alive was to use him for breeding, but thankfully he got a second chance at life.

Viktor Larkhill and his incredible team of rescuers set him free and brought him back to their clinic. The first thing they did was shave his disgusting, matted fur and give him a much-needed bath.
Not only were they shaving off the matted hair, but they were shaving away years of horrible neglect.
