Two More Dog Food Companies Make The FDA Recall List

It seems like we are writing a new RECALL article every week! Sadly, here’s another one. We must keep our pups safe so please check your stock and share this article!

Carnivore Meat Co. and TruPet LLC are recalling dog food and dog treats because of possible Salmonella contamination.

The recalls were prompted by the Michigan Department of Agriculture after collection of retail samples from a batch of each product were tested. Tests confirmed they were both positive for Salmonella contamination. Luckily, there have been no illnesses reported linked to these specific foods.

According to the FDA’s advisory, the recalls are of public health concern because of the potential hazard to humans and pets. People who have handled food contaminated with Salmonella are at risk for infection and can develop Salmonellosis. Symptoms can include nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramping, diarrhea, fever and headache. If any symptoms develop, contact your health care provider immediately.
