Sammi the Springer Spaniel had a degenerative change in his neck and suddenly became quadriplegic. His mom was devastated. The thought of her dog never walking again was a hard one to deal with. But in 2008, Sammi was taken to California Animal Rehabilitation in Santa Monica for surgery.

The veterinarians and animal rehabilitation therapists worked for three months to restore the strength in his muscles so he’d be able to support his own body and walk once again. It turned out Sammi was quite the fighter and was more than up for the challenge! 🙂

In the video below, Mom arrives at the rehab center to pick up her dog, and that’s when she sees him walk again for the very first time.
She’d tried to imagine it, but that was nothing compared to actually seeing it in person. She couldn’t believe how well Sammi was getting around!
Mom dropped her pamphlet, covered her mouth in disbelief, and the tears started to flow. It truly is amazing.
