Serenity the Husky has an invasive tumor that has invaded her nasal cavity and gone up above her eye sockets and skull.
When Patti Dawson, President of Dallas Dog Rescue Rehab Reform, saw Serenity at a San Antonio shelter, she knew they had to take her in. And when they first met, Dawson fell in love with her.

“She gets up, leans in with this huge tumor and does this bump to me, like dogs do the bump, and kissed my face,” Dawson told WFAA.
“At that point, I knew we were going to fight to the death to do what we could to save her because she had the life left in her.”
After she picked her up from the shelter, Dawson immediately brought her to an oncologist, internal medicine, and a critical specialist to be examined.

While Serenity can still see, breathe and eat normally, there is unfortunately not much vets can do about her tumor.
Despite that, Dawson still plans on giving Serenity the wonderful life she deserves, regardless of how much time she has left.

Animal photographer Renee Dowhaniuk took beautiful pictures of Serenity, which have since gone viral on social media.
Since then, Serenity has received more than 300 care packages from people all over the country who have fallen in love with her.
