Sheila, despite her condition, still had the will to live. An enormous tumor developed on her belly and her owner decided to euthanize her.
Why did he let it get so big? Why wasn’t Sheila brought in for medical care when it would’ve been easier to intervene?
No one knows for sure. But what is apparent is that Sheila deserves kindness.

When Sheila was taken to the vet by her owner to be put down, the vet called He’Art of Rescue. The doctor explained that Sheila could survive but needed immediate intervention. The rescue group stepped in knowing they could spare her life.

He’Art of Rescue picked Sheila up. She was then taken to their medical clinic. The veterinarian assessed her and said he could remove the tumor but it was urgent to do so. It was major surgery! The sheer size of the tumor had caused a lot of pain.
The surgery went very well. But as you can see, Sheila still lacks motivation. She’s withdrawn and scared. Being in a place that is unfamiliar while undergoing so much, can certainly take its toll.
But no one was giving up on the deserving dog. Does Sheila not think she’s worth the effort? What happened in her past to make her think she isn’t worthy of their help?

Sheila’s story is one of many where she comes from. Some believe she wasn’t shown much love or compassion. Maybe Sheila was just an afterthought.
She’s shut down– but there are many volunteers that will work with her. They will teach her all about love and what it means to be a dog. They will show her that she’s worth it… because she is!

Once she’s totally healed, body and soul, she will be available for adoption. The rescue group is very strict as to the people they choose.
They screen the families properly and will find Sheila a forever home filled with everything she could ever dream of. She will feel worthy. That is for certain!
