Arabella is a sweet and happy homeless dog who loves receiving attention. She’s also got an adorable routine that has caught the attention of the shelter staff and now thousands of people.
“Every morning after she returns to her kennel for breakfast, adoptable Arabella challenges herself to fit as many toys as possible into her mouth, and proceeds to carry them around for the rest of the day. The fluffier, the better! ” the SFC Virginia writes.
A few weeks ago, Arabella hit a milestone. SFC Virginia shares, “Today she won the crowning achievement: three whole toys at once! She’s very proud of herself, and we are too, so we told her we would celebrate her victory by posting it here on Facebook….”
Arabella came to the SFC Virginia crew a few months ago after she was rescued by one of their rescue partners.
“Arabella is a sweet boxer mix lady who came in underweight from one of our shelter partners,” SFC Virginia wrote on Facebook. “She is stressed out with the sights and sounds of the other dogs in our HQ, and is in need of swift placement in a home environment so she can gain some weight, decompress and hopefully live her best life!”
Sadly, a foster home hasn’t materialized – an issue shelters across North America are having at the moment. Now, SFC Virginia hopes that by revealing Arabella’s hidden talent, someone will step forward to foster or adopt her. They write, “Arabella has been here way too long, and would love a home of her own where she can entertain you daily with her toy carrying antics and XL mouth capacity.”
The shelter adds, “Arabella has done beautifully with all of the people she has met since arriving at SFC. At this time we are hoping for a foster/adoptive home where she can be the only dog OR a room/space of her very own away from other pups so she can relax and truly settle in.”
Despite Arabella’s Facebook post going viral and generating thousands of shares, the shelter says they only have received two applications.
“With an unexpected response to her post that received thousands of shares, we got two applications. The first one was a maybe and we are still reaching out to the second one, so she is very much still looking for a home,” updates SFC Virginia. “Arabella has been with us for quite some time and would make a lovely companion to a family in need of a pup to love. She would be best as an only dog based on our experience of her during her stay here. She appears to have some Boxer in there and is around 45 lbs, full-grown. Arabella is a sweet and happy girl who LOVES receiving attention.” Now she just needs a family who can appreciate her loving nature.
