This adorable dog gave this man the cutest signals that she wanted to be friends with him and it worked.
The metal box was loud, and I was frightened. My owner continuously tried to explain that it was okay; it was almost over.
I calmed down once he reassured me by petting me, but soon he was distracted by his phone, and I felt loneliness come over me.
When could I play? When would he rub my head again? And what am I supposed to do on this long thing that moves like a car? I just want to have some fun and say hi to some people.
I looked over at the man on the other side of me. Why not? Stranger danger is not a real thing to a dog. Who would be mean or creepy to a dog?
He smiled at me, and I smiled back, happy to make a friend so quickly. He looked away again, and I was sad. He was going to ignore me just like my owner! Not fair. I thought I was too cute for that.
I shifted closer, refusing to be ignored, and stared widely at him, begging him silently for a pet or some attention. What use was my owner if he couldn’t even pet me!
The man put his hand out, and I eagerly licked it, tasting some remnants of what I think was a cheeseburger. Yum! I licked more, shifting even closer to my new friend.
I can taste the beef and the cheese as if he’d just eaten it! I continued to lick until my owner decided it was time for me to stop, and the people smiling at us moved their phones away.
I think they were looking at us and trying to take my picture like my owner does when I do something funny.
I enjoyed the attention, but they weren’t petting me, so it wasn’t enough. I hope I get some human food when I get home, and hopefully, it tastes as good as the burger my new friend had for lunch!
