Dog Found By Busy Airport– Rescuers Finally Find Owner, Get Devastating News

Going it alone is tough for anyone, but imagine being a dog faced with being on her own outside the busy Los Angeles Airport.

That was the case for a dog who had to fend for herself near the LAX Airport. She was reported to the Hope for Paws rescue group and they immediately went to work trying to save her. It took days to locate the dog and ultimately trap her so that she could be brought to a foster home for care, then hopefully a forever home.

The Hope for Paws staff searched through parking garages and between buildings, continually getting calls that the dog was still being seen by others. She was frightened and didn’t trust people, so the job was even more difficult than most.

However, once they trapped her, they discovered she had a microchip and were able to call to see who owned her. Unfortunately, the company reported that the woman on record said she no longer owned the dog. She didn’t offer additional information and the Hope for Paws group knew they were going to have to find a home for her on their own. The rescuers named her Viva. Appropriate, right?

Luckily, she assimilated well and found her happiness again quickly. Now, she still needs to find her forever home.
