When Man Puts Up Post To “Give Away” 9 Puppies And Their Mom, Neighbors Step In To Help

Nana is a 4-year-old dog who spent most of her life on the end of a chain.

Though young, she’d already had two litters, and only one puppy had survived. By six months old, the lone survivor faced the same fate as her mother, chained in the same yard, and already pregnant. Luckily, a kind neighbor took her in.

Nana’s luck finally changed just after giving birth to her third litter. All nine pups had miraculously survived. But when the dog’s owner put up a disturbing post on Facebook, simply “giving away” the puppies that were clearly not being kept in clean and safe conditions, some neighbors stepped in once more.

Nana's salvation began with this sad post, of the yard she lived in, day in and day out, for years, confined by a chain.

They alerted the Faithful Friends Animal Sanctuary (FFAS) in Salisbury, NC about the furry family’s living conditions. The rescue took them in and cared for them, getting in touch with New York partner Mr. Bones & Co to find foster families for the whole canine crew.

Once the pups were ready, they planned to send the family of 10 up north where they would find loving forever homes.

Having lost so many babies before, Nana was very attentive and protective, and finally able to nurse her puppies in safety. The whole bunch was named after Peter Pan characters: Peter Pan, Tinkerbell, Tiger Lily, Wendy, John, Michael, Cubby, Liza, Jane, and of course, Nana!

Once they were healthy and old enough to make the journey, Nana and her pups were flown by Pilots N Paws to New Jersey.

From there, they were picked up in a van with Mr. Bones & Co. team members, and were on their way to their foster families!

Finally, all 10 pups had left their traumatic past behind! Nana was exhausted but relieved.

One by one, each pup was dropped off at loving foster or foster-to-adopt homes in New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut.

“As the day wore on and each of Nana’s babies left her, she watched closely, sometimes pulling towards them, but ultimately allowed the transition, because she trusted and knew us,” Mr. Bones & Co. posted on Facebook.

Finally, Nana was taken to a foster-to-adopt home of her very own, where her new humans eagerly “showered her with attention.”

We know that each and every one of these sweet pups will find their perfect forever homes–and some of them already have!

It’s no wonder…aren’t they ridiculously cute?!?!

Thanks to the proactive neighbors who expressed concern, all the pups are safe and sound. This is a good example of “if you see something, say something.”

And to everyone involved in this furry family’s rescue, thank you for all that you do!
