Woman Opens Heart & Turns Her Home Into Hospice Facility For Senior Dogs

Stacey Herrick has a special place in heart for senior dogs. The Morrisville, Pennsylvania woman decided to act on her love for golden oldies by turning her home into a hospice facility for senior pets.

Happy Tails Rescue and Retirement Home is a special place for special dogs. Herrick saw her own personal pets getting older and she became more aware of the number of senior dogs in shelters.

Herrick previously ran a rescue, helped place thousands of animals into new homes, and continues to volunteer at a local rescue organization.

Many of the dogs currently in her care are on medications and need to see specialists regularly, adding up to huge costs.

One of the dogs that stands out to Herrick is named Margarita, who appears to be a Chihuahua mix.

Margarita came to a shelter filled with fleas and missing her fur. She was set to be euthanized at 5 pm the day Herrick saved the pup’s life.

Nowadays, things are different for Margarita, as Herrick says, “She looks amazing, and I think what a waste that would have been. She’s a great dog!”

The heroic woman says a raw diet and supplements help turn these dogs around.
