Woman Rescues 37 Dogs From Dog-Meat Farm, Fears There Are More That Need Help

A dog breeder in China recently had to close his business, so he decided to sell all 37 of his dogs to the local dog-meat industry. They were kept in sickening condition in cages, only to be tortured and skinned alive later for “exotic” restaurant-menus.

When Big Dog Ranch Rescue’s founder Lauree Simmons found out about the plight of these dogs, she knew she had to intervene. She decided to take help from various agencies and bring these dogs to the South Florida shelter.

Lauree went through a rigorous 2-month period of getting various approvals from agencies like Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

The dogs are now safe and sound in their new shelter and are also up for adoptions. However, this isn’t the end of the battle for Lauree. She has decided to go back to China to rescue the other dogs trapped in the barbaric dog-meat industry.

We are heartbroken to see these thriving, resentful practices that cause the death of millions of dogs every year. We appreciate Lauree’s relentless efforts to save these innocent souls. Anyone wishing to adopt these dogs or donate towards her cause can contact the shelter by clicking here.
