Energetic Service Dog Hilariously Fails Dog Training But Becomes Internet Star

Sometimes we are given a job in life that turns out to be something we’re not destined for. Many of us have been in that exact situation. You start working in a position and realize that it just isn’t your thing. The same holds true for animals– as one service dog in training is doing things ‘his way’ and sweeping the Internet in the process.

Ryker is one of many dogs trying to become a service dog. He is in training at the Double H Canine Training Academy in Louisville, Kentucky. He wants to be of service and do his very best, but the temptation to chase a tennis ball is far too enticing.

Service dogs are trained to do any number of tasks for the people who rely on them. In Ryker’s case, he’s trying to learn to help someone in a wheelchair, open a refrigerator, and a few other important tasks. In a hilarious video that has exploded on social media, the dog decides to set his own standards.

He attacks the tennis ball, goes at warp speed pulling someone in a wheelchair, and even moves the refrigerator a few feet when trying to open it. The faces on the other service dogs surrounding him are hysterical. They can’t believe their eyes and neither will you.

Watch the video that the training facility posted to their Facebook page below. We guess it’s safe to say that Ryker is going to make an awesome family pet since the service dog thing isn’t in the cards.
