De Doorns Outreach learned of a sad situation where two dogs were being targeted as revenge for a marriage gone bad.
The couple decided to take it out on their pets after a messy divorce, and innocent Bernie and Annabel became the victims. The poor dogs had nothing to do with it all, and now they were being intentionally starved.

Bernie was showing symptoms of botulism which was caused by toxins found in the rotten meat of dead animals he’d gotten into while scrounging around.
He desperately needed to eat, and now he was even more sick. As soon as they got him back to the vet at Sidewalk Specials, the muscular and motor paralysis started setting in.

Unfortunately, Bernie was beyond saving at this point. But his mother was still putting up a fight. Annabel did her best to watch over him as they fended for themselves out there all alone, and she never wanted to leave the only place she ever called home.
But for a second chance at life, the sweet 7-year-old girl needs that loving forever home. Let’s do our part and get her story out in front of as many people as possible!
