A scared stray dog became stranded in the middle of a busy highway in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, but she just happened to be in the right place at the right time.
A bus driver, named Silvio Gomes, saw the dog and immediately stopped on the side of the highway. Passengers were left confused, but then realized what the kind-hearted man was doing.
Gomes walked toward the median to lure the dog toward the bus. It didn’t take much coaxing, though, and the dog followed him onto the bus. Gomes and the pup were met with a round of applause from passengers as they stepped onto the bus.
The heartwarming moment was caught on video by one of the passengers, which you can watch below. The dog seemed happy to be back with people instead of being stuck in traffic all by herself.
But the story gets even better. Not only did the bus driver save the dog from potentially being hit by a speeding car on the highway, but he got along with the pup so well that he decided to adopt her!
Gomes decided to name the dog Olympics after the place he rescued her from – the Trans Olympic.
