GrubHub Delivery Guy Drops Off Pizza & Dognaps Man’s Teacup Poodle

Food delivery services are a part of the landscape of society these days. People enjoy the convenience of ordering food and having it delivered to their doorstep.

Sadly, not every delivery driver is credible or reliable, as is seen in a case being reported out of Jacksonville Beach, Florida.

Police say 22-year-old Arlinson Chilito delivered a pizza to Rick Block recently. Block ordered the pizza from a restaurant in the area using the GrubHub app.

When Chilito arrived with the food, he walked inside a condo building, scooped up his miniature Poodle, and hid the dog in his delivery bag. Fortunately, the entire scene was captured on a surveillance camera in the area.

On it, the man is seen walking into an elevator with the dog before driving off in a blue Ford Focus vehicle. The 10-month-old Poodle, Lexi, was gone in a flash.

“There were hundreds and hundreds of people out looking,” Block shared. “One friend sent his 76-year-old grandmother out at midnight last night driving around, looking for Lexi. How do you say thank you?”

After being missing for one full day, Block posted on Facebook the very next day that Lexi was found and was safe back at home where she belongs. The Police Department announced Chilito’s arrest and said he was booked into the Duval County Jail.

On a side note, when a local reporter contacted GrubHub about the crime, a spokesperson said Chilito was not a contracted driver with the delivery service. They said he “was using another contracted driver’s account without Grubhub’s permission or knowledge.”

Always keep a close eye on your pets whenever someone is delivering food to your home. Even if the person is legitimate, dogs can quickly run out the door. We are glad to hear about this happy ending.
