#32 Collie – 10 Years

This breed was popularized by its association with the character of Lassie, star of the small and silver screen. Unfortunately, while the Lassie TV show ran for 20 years, real life collies have an average life expectancy of 10 years.
This is partly due to their purebred lineage, to achieve its friendly temperament and gorgeous leading questionable breeding techniques were used. This lead to the breed’s propensity for hip problems and other health issues.
But if you’re willing to take this risk you’ll find that collies are friendly, smart, and just fantastic companions for as long as they’re alive. That may not be as long as you might like but this dog from the United Kingdom won’t give you one reason to regret your time together.

#4 Landseer is not a breed, it’s a color of Newfoundland.
