#20 Leonberger – 9 years
The Leonberger falls into the list of ‘giant’ dog breeds with a short life expectancy. They look a lot like a lion, and that’s no coincidence – the rumour is that the breeders who created the Leonberger wanted it to look like a wild animal.
With an average life expectancy of around 9 years, the Leonberger is a mixed breed dog with characteristics taken from St. Bernard, the Pyrenees Mountain Dog and the Landseer Newfoundland.

#4 Landseer is not a breed, it’s a color of Newfoundland.
